High School Youth Ministry of Calvary Chapel Goodyear

"Committed"

In current times, the youth are hard pressed to conform to the deceptive, evil social and cultural ills.  Our mission is to equip the youth in Christ through the teaching of the Word, Worship, Discipleship, Fellowship and Prayer so that they may conduct their lives in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ. That they may fully understand God's will for their lives.  The High School students will learn about God's will by learning the following three principles from God's word:

Mission Statement

1 Peter 4:1-2

"Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God."

We believe that God's will is inclusive of Salvation, Sanctification and Service for every believer who is committed to living a life of purpose and fulfillment.  Our goal is to commit to the systematic teaching of God's word and discipleship for High School Youth.  Through the anointing and power of the Holy Spirit, the Bible studies will reveal the will of God through the following principles:

Salvation

Titus 2:11-14

"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works."

The most precious gift we can receive is Salvation from the completed work of our Lord Jesus Christ.  High School Youth will have many opportunities to receive the Gospel and become agents of Christ in reaching siblings, parents, relatives, neighbors, classmates and friends.

Sanctification

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14

"But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Because of their relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit is working in their heart, mind, body and soul to transform the lives of the High School Youth.  Through the consistent and systematic teaching of God's Word, the Holy Spirit will renew of their minds and begin the transition from elementary principles of the faith to an understanding of the perfect will of God.

Service

Ephesians 6:5-8

"Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not with eye service, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free."

With support and commitment through prayer, the youth will be provided with opportunities to serve within their families, their communities, their schools and wherever the Lord leads.  This service will give the High School Youth an opportunity to apply what they have learned.  All service opportunities will be accomplished as an act of worship unto the Lord through humility, dedication and love.

Currently, the High School Youth are systematically studying the following:
